Demijohn Description
This is a glass demijohn, a traditional vessel historically used for storing and fermenting liquids, particularly wine, cider, or other alcoholic beverages. The bulbous shape and narrow neck are characteristic of demijohns, designed for ease of cleaning and to minimise oxidation. This particular example is a classic design, likely dating to the mid-20th century or earlier, and would have been a staple in home winemaking or brewing setups.
Demijohn Condition
This demijohn shows signs of age and use, with some surface wear and possible minor imperfections in the glass. It is offered in as-found condition, and while it may still be suitable for display or decorative purposes, its suitability for continued liquid storage is not guaranteed. Collectors and enthusiasts of vintage kitchenalia or brewing equipment may find this a desirable addition to their collections.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
