Thames Conservancy Registration Plates

This lot comprises three enamel registration plates issued by the Thames Conservancy for private pleasure vessels. Dating to 1914, 1941, and 1946, these plates would have been affixed to boats navigating the River Thames, serving as official identification. The plates feature the distinctive Thames Conservancy crest and registration numbers, rendered in vibrant enamel on a metal base.

Condition and Collectability

These plates exhibit signs of age and wear consistent with their use and age, including minor enamel loss and surface scratches. Despite this, the colours remain remarkably vibrant, and the plates retain their original character. These plates are highly sought after by collectors of nautical memorabilia, river history enthusiasts, and those interested in the heritage of the River Thames.
