Toni Raymond Hand Painted Pottery Frog Money Box
This is a hand painted pottery frog money box by Toni Raymond, offered as a decorative ceramic piece with a practical purpose. The frog is modelled in a seated, squat pose with a broad head, wide mouth and protruding eyes. Its back has a slot opening for coins. The body is painted in mottled shades of green over a cream underside and face, with orange-brown spots across the back and dark, glossy eyes. The glaze is smooth and lustrous across the body. The underside is marked with a black printed pottery stamp bearing the name Raymond Pottery, with a bird motif to the left of the lettering.
Condition and Collectability
The frog money box is presented in the condition shown in the images. Some minor marks and small surface speckles are visible on the underside, and there is slight discolouration to the base glaze. No obvious chips or cracks are visible in the images, but the piece has not been tested for function. Its hand painted finish, distinctive modelling and original printed mark make it of interest to collectors of Toni Raymond pottery and of novelty ceramic money boxes. Its naturalistic detailing and lively character also suit buyers looking for a characterful piece of decorative pottery.
