Trench Art Shell Vases
These are two striking shell vases, crafted in 1944 as examples of trench art. Fashioned from spent artillery shells, these vases demonstrate the ingenuity and resourcefulness of soldiers during wartime. The brass casings have been carefully repurposed and decorated, transforming instruments of conflict into objects of beauty and remembrance. These vases offer a unique glimpse into the history of wartime craftsmanship.
Condition & Collectibility
These vases exhibit signs of age and wear consistent with their history and creation. The brass shows a lovely patina, and there may be minor imperfections or dents from their original use and subsequent crafting. These are highly sought-after pieces by collectors of military memorabilia and folk art, offering a tangible connection to a significant period in history. They would make a unique addition to any collection or a striking decorative piece for a discerning home.
