Antique Air Ministry Camera – SI Type 1943

This lot comprises two antique cameras, notably including an Air Ministry SI Type 1943 camera. These cameras represent a fascinating piece of photographic history, likely used for aerial reconnaissance or other military applications during World War II. The construction features wooden bodies, bellows, and associated fittings, indicative of the era’s engineering and design.

Condition and Collectibility

Both cameras exhibit signs of age and use, with wear and patina consistent with their vintage. The bellows show creasing and potential light leaks, and the wooden bodies display surface wear. Despite this, these cameras are highly sought after by collectors of military memorabilia, photographic equipment, and historical artifacts. They offer a unique glimpse into the technology and practices of the mid-20th century.
