Khmer Rice Cutting Tool

This is a traditional Khmer rice cutting tool, featuring a curved blade and a decorative handle sculpted in the form of a naga dragon head. These tools were historically used by farmers in Cambodia for harvesting rice, and the naga motif is a significant symbol in Khmer culture, believed to bring good luck and protection. The blade is crafted from metal, while the handle appears to be made from wood, showcasing the craftsmanship of traditional Khmer artisans.

Condition and Collectibility

This Khmer rice cutting tool exhibits signs of age and use, consistent with its antique nature. The blade may show some wear, and the wooden handle may have minor imperfections or patina. Despite this, the tool remains a fascinating example of Khmer agricultural tools and a unique collectible for those interested in Southeast Asian culture, farming history, or antique tools.
