Uranium Glass Collection
This collection features a striking lidded jug crafted from uranium glass, known for its distinctive green hue and fluorescent properties under ultraviolet light. The jug is accompanied by a selection of smaller green glass pieces, likely intended as matching serving or decorative items. The style evokes a mid-century aesthetic, reminiscent of Depression-era glassware, and would have been popular for adding a touch of colour and elegance to dining tables or display cabinets.
Condition and Collectibility
The pieces exhibit signs of age and use, consistent with vintage items. There may be minor imperfections such as bubbles, scratches, or slight variations in colour, which are characteristic of hand-blown or early machine-made glass. This collection is of interest to collectors of uranium glass, vintage kitchenware, and those seeking unique decorative items with a retro charm. The glowing properties of uranium glass add an extra layer of fascination and collectibility.
