Vintage US Army Signal Corps Chest
This is a vintage US Army Signal Corps chest, dated 1944. Constructed with a wooden body reinforced with metal banding and corner protectors, this chest was designed for the transport and storage of signal corps equipment. The lid is stenciled with “SIG. CORPS U.S. ARMY” and “LONDEN MFG. MPD-44” along with a serial number, indicating its original military use and manufacture.
Condition and Collectibility
This chest exhibits significant signs of wear consistent with its age and military service. The wood shows wear, and the stenciling is faded and worn, adding to its authentic vintage character. This chest would be of interest to military collectors, history enthusiasts, or those seeking a unique and rustic storage solution with a strong historical provenance.
