Vandenborre Bacchus Tarot Cards

This is a striking art deco tarot deck designed by the Belgian artist Émile Vandenborre, and originally published in the 1930s. The deck features 78 cards, each depicting allegorical figures and scenes inspired by classical mythology and the god Bacchus. The cards are notable for their bold geometric designs, vibrant colours, and unique interpretations of traditional tarot symbolism, reflecting the aesthetic of the Art Deco movement.

Condition and Collectibility

This Vandenborre Bacchus Tarot deck appears to be a vintage example, showing signs of age and handling commensurate with its age. The cards exhibit wear, including edge wear, surface scratches, and possible minor staining, which is typical for a deck of this age. Despite these imperfections, the deck remains a highly sought-after collectible for tarot enthusiasts and art deco collectors alike, due to its rarity, artistic merit, and historical significance.
