Antique Vesta Cases and Shatlaiene Pencils
This lot comprises a collection of antique vesta cases and shatlaiene pencils, alongside a bore plaque. The vesta cases are crafted from various materials, including silver and base metals, exhibiting a range of decorative styles. The shatlaiene pencils, slender and elegant, were popular writing instruments in the 19th and early 20th centuries, often featuring intricate detailing. The bore plaque adds an interesting element to the collection, potentially relating to military or sporting equipment.
Condition and Collectibility
The items present varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. Some vesta cases exhibit minor dents or scratches, while the shatlaiene pencils may show signs of fading or wear to the mechanisms. The bore plaque shows signs of age and use. Despite these imperfections, the lot offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and would appeal to collectors of antique smoking accessories, writing instruments, or militaria.
