Constructed primarily of brass, the instrument features a bulbous reservoir with a hand pump mechanism, and a delivery tube with a mouthpiece. The design suggests a method of administering anaesthetic vapours, common in veterinary practice during the early to mid 20th century. The instrument’s construction and detailing indicate a quality piece of medical equipment from its era.
