Victorian Brass Fireplace Fender
This is a Victorian-era brass fireplace fender, designed to protect the hearth and surrounding floor from sparks and debris. The fender features a classic, gently curved form with decorative turned posts along its length. The brass has a warm, aged patina, indicative of its age and use, and the construction suggests a quality piece intended for a refined home.
Condition and Collectibility
The fender shows signs of age and use, with some wear to the brass surface and minor imperfections consistent with its period. It is likely that the brass has been polished and maintained over the years, contributing to its present appearance. This piece would be of interest to collectors of Victorian brassware, fireplace accessories, or those seeking to add an authentic touch to a period home.
