Victorian Fireplace Surround

This is a decorative Victorian fireplace surround, likely dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Constructed with a composition material designed to mimic marble, it features a classically inspired design with fluted columns and a central panel adorned with floral motifs. The surround is intended to frame a fire opening, and would have been a focal point in a Victorian-era home.

Condition

The fireplace surround exhibits signs of age and wear, including surface chipping and discoloration. While not in pristine condition, this adds to its character and authenticity. It presents a wonderful opportunity for restoration or can be appreciated for its aged patina, appealing to collectors of architectural salvage and Victorian antiques.
