Victorian Silver Lucky Horseshoe and Riding Crop Brooch

This Victorian silver brooch combines two horseshoes and a riding crop motif in a single bar-form design. The horseshoes are interlinked across the centre of the piece, a traditional symbol of good luck, while the crop forms the horizontal base. It offers a characterful piece of sporting and equestrian jewellery from the Victorian period.

The riding crop has a spiral-twisted shaft and a faceted terminal knob at one end, with a fine chain-effect cord looping over the horseshoes and across the crop. The horseshoes are finished with a smooth, rounded profile, and the overall design is compact and well balanced. The piece is described as silver, and no maker’s mark or brand is attributed to it in this entry.

Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal

Condition details for this brooch are available on request from the auction house, and prospective buyers are encouraged to enquire before bidding. The piece is offered as a Victorian item, and its combination of a lucky horseshoe and a riding crop makes it appealing to collectors of equestrian, sporting and antique silver jewellery. Its motifs suit both period jewellery enthusiasts and those seeking a distinctive gift with a traditional theme.
