Victorian Slate and Marble Inlay French Mantel Clock
This Victorian mantel clock is presented in a black slate case of architectural form, with a shaped pediment centred on a roundel of green marble. Panels of green marble inlay appear at the upper corners of the front and within the lower section of the base, and a marble lozenge sits at the centre of the plinth. Gilt linear decoration picks out the pediment, the front pilasters and the base, and the clock is described as French in style. The brass bezel surrounds a dial with black Roman numerals and a gilt centre. The clock is offered with its key.
Condition and Collectability
Some minor surface marks are visible to the slate, most noticeably along the upper edge of the pediment, and the gilt decoration shows some wear in places.
