Victorian Walnut Trumpet Sewing Work Table
This Victorian walnut trumpet sewing work table combines a circular top with a fitted interior and a raised tripod base. The table is of the trumpet form, with a flared column rising from a carved collar to three splayed, scroll-ended legs. The circular top is veneered in figured walnut with a moulded edge, and the hinged lid opens to reveal an octagonal well with compartments lined in green fabric and a patterned lining. The scalloped lower edge of the top gives the piece its characterful profile, and the carved collar adds further detail to the stem.
Condition and Collectable Appeal
The table shows the warm, even patina and gentle surface wear expected of a piece of its age, with the walnut veneer retaining its figure across the top and column. The lining and compartments within the work well are visible and display the original fabric arrangement. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
