Three Vintage Film Reels in Cans, Parent’s Day 1955 and Garden Party 1963
This lot comprises three vintage film reels housed in their metal cans, titled Parent’s Day 1955 and Garden Party 1963. Each reel is presented in its original can, with the titles written on the lids and the reels showing the typical fittings of mid-twentieth century cine film. The group offers a glimpse of school and family occasions recorded on film during the 1950s and 1960s.
Age-Related Wear and Original Presentation
The reels and cans show clear signs of age, including surface wear, scuffing and some discolouration to the metal. Handwritten and printed labels, along with adhesive tape markings, remain visible on the lids and reels, adding to the period character of the lot. The cans appear to be original to the reels, and the handwritten titles are part of the historical record of how the films were catalogued. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
