Vintage Airfix 1:600 Scale RMS Mauretania Model Kit
This lot is a vintage Airfix 1:600 scale model kit of the R.M.S. Mauretania, offered in its original illustrated box. The box is labelled “AIRFIX 600 SCALE” and “R.M.S. MAURETANIA” across the top, with “AIRFIX 600” repeated on the lower end panel. The front artwork depicts the liner with its four red-topped funnels and black hull, accompanied by tugs and seabirds, with the Statue of Liberty visible on the right. The box is long and narrow, reflecting the elongated form of the ocean liner it was designed to represent.
Condition and Collector Interest
The box shows the expected signs of age for a vintage kit, including light edge wear and marks to the surface. The contents have not been verified and the kit is sold as seen, so prospective buyers should make their own assessment before bidding. Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
