Vintage Amstrad E-Mailer Plus Personal Communication Centre
This lot is a vintage Amstrad E-Mailer Plus, model EM2001-AUK, a Personal Communication Centre offered in its original cardboard box. The box is branded e-m@iler plus and is marked as a Personal Communication Centre, with the Amstrad name and the slogan “Getting Britain emailing” printed on the side. The packaging illustrates the unit as a combined telephone, keyboard and screen set. The box lists its main functions as email, internet, SMS text, games and ringtones. The design reflects the early 2000s, when home email devices of this kind were sold to the general public.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The outer box shows general wear, with creasing, scuffing and tears to the cardboard, along with some splitting to the top flap and edges. The printed artwork remains legible on the front and side panels. Inside, the unit appears to be held in moulded white polystyrene inserts and wrapped in clear plastic, with a smaller white box also visible. The contents have not been confirmed as complete and are offered as seen, with no guarantee of working order. The original packaging and inserts make this an appealing piece for collectors of vintage Amstrad products and early consumer communication devices, as well as for those interested in boxed technology of the period.
