Vintage Aquilus Naval 16×40 Binoculars
This lot offers a pair of vintage Aquilus naval binoculars with a 16×40 specification, presented in a tan leather case. The binoculars have a black body with a textured covering to the barrels and a central focusing wheel between the twin eyepieces. The Aquilus name and the markings 16×40 and COATED appear on the body, and the binoculars are fitted with leather carrying straps. The oval leather case has stitched detailing, a front flap and a buckle fastening, and it carries its own shoulder strap.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The binoculars show general wear consistent with age, including scuffing and marking to the black finish and covering, and the leather straps show signs of use. The eyepieces and objective lenses are visible, and the leather case retains its stitching and buckle, though it also shows wear. No claims are made as to working order or completeness. Collectors may be drawn to the naval-style design, the vintage character and the original leather case, which together give the lot a period appeal.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
