Vintage Best Yet Wool Winder with Original Box
This is a vintage Best Yet wool winder, offered with its original card box. The winder is a wooden accessory for holding and winding skeins of wool, with a turned base and central column. It is a practical item for knitters and crafters, and the boxed presentation adds to its appeal as a period piece.
The winder has a round, turned wooden base supporting a slender central column with turned detailing and a cup-shaped top. Extending from the column is a concertina-style frame of slatted wooden arms, joined by pivoting pins, which open out to a wide spread. The wood has a pale, natural finish. The printed box carries the Best Yet name and a label reading “1 Only”.
Condition and Collectability
The wooden winder shows signs of age and general wear consistent with its vintage. The card box is worn, with creasing, marks and an open top. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
