Vintage Brass Balance Scales
This is a charming set of vintage brass balance scales, likely intended for travel or portable use. The scales feature two delicate pans suspended from a central beam, with a chain mechanism for adjusting and balancing. Included are a series of brass weights, used for accurate measurement. The scales are presented within a fitted wooden box, providing protection and ease of transport.
Condition and Collectibility
The scales exhibit signs consistent with age and use, including some patina to the brass and minor wear to the wooden box. While the functionality is not assessed, this set presents well and would be of interest to collectors of antique scientific instruments, travel memorabilia, or brassware. The complete presentation within its original box adds to its appeal and desirability.
