Description
This is a charming set of vintage brass scales, exhibiting the flowing lines characteristic of the Art Nouveau style. The scales feature a circular base supporting a delicate balance arm with two pans, each adorned with embossed detailing. Included are a series of brass weights, designed to be used with the scales for measuring. The overall construction suggests a piece intended for decorative display as much as practical use, and would have been a beautiful addition to a Victorian or Edwardian home.
Condition
This set of scales shows signs of age and use, with a lovely patina developed on the brass over time. While the mechanism has not been tested, the scales appear structurally sound. Collectors will appreciate the authentic vintage aesthetic and the potential for restoration or display as a unique decorative item. The weights are included, adding to the completeness of the set, though their accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
