Vintage Automobile Bulb Horn
This is a vintage bulb horn, likely dating from the early to mid-20th century. The horn features a brass body with a black rubber bulb and a long, curved metal tube. These horns operated by squeezing the rubber bulb, forcing air through the tube to create a loud honking sound. They were commonly fitted to early automobiles as a means of alerting pedestrians and other drivers.
Condition and Collectibility
The horn shows signs of age and wear, with some patina and minor corrosion to the brass. The rubber bulb is present, though may be brittle with age. Despite its condition, this bulb horn would be a desirable addition to any collection of antique automobile accessories or vintage motoring memorabilia. It represents a fascinating piece of automotive history and a testament to early automotive engineering.
