Lot of Four Vintage Carved Wood Chinese Pot Stands
This lot comprises four vintage carved wooden pot stands of the type traditionally used to display ceramic pots, vases and bowls. The largest is a footed stand with a raised circular top, its body carved with scrolling, cloud-like motifs and pierced openwork, and it is supported on three feet. The remaining three are circular stands with carved and pierced sides in varying sizes, finished in a range of tones from light golden-brown to dark and reddish-brown. The maker and precise place of origin are not known.
Condition and Collector Appeal
All four stands show surface wear consistent with their age, including scuffs, marks and areas of lost finish, most noticeably on the reddish-brown stand. Carved detail is visible across the group, and no maker’s marks are evident. As a set of differing sizes and finishes, the lot may appeal to collectors of Chinese decorative arts, to those seeking period display stands for ceramics or curios, and to buyers building a collection of carved wooden furnishings.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
