Vintage Black Cash Tin with Mixed Coins, Two Banknotes and Coin Wallets
This lot comprises a dark metal cash tin with a hinged lid and a small keyhole to the front, filled with a quantity of mixed coins. The contents also include two one pound banknotes, one issued by the Bank of Scotland and one by the Bank of England, together with three coin storage wallets. The tin has a lift-up lid with a slim internal tray, and the coins appear to span a range of copper, bronze and silver-toned pieces, with a mixture of British and possibly foreign issues. The Bank of England note is presented in a Raffles display folder titled The English One Pound Note 1821-1984, while two of the wallets are Collecta Mini Coin Wallets and the third is titled Britain’s First Decimal Coins.
Sold as Seen, Offering Mixed Contents for Collectors and Hobbyists
The coins and notes show the expected wear for their age and handling, with some tarnishing and surface marks on the coins and creasing and soiling on the Bank of Scotland note. The Raffles folder shows minor wear to its card cover, and the wallets have light scuffing consistent with use. Everything is offered as seen and the lot has not been individually examined or graded. Collectors of British decimal and pre-decimal coinage, banknote enthusiasts and anyone starting a sorting project will find the mixed contents and accessories of interest. The tin and wallets also make a practical foundation for a cataloguing or sorting collection.
