Introducing the Charles Perry Prefect 4056a Microscope

This is a vintage Charles Perry & Co Ltd Prefect 4056a microscope, a classic example of early to mid-20th-century scientific instrumentation. The microscope features a sturdy metal construction, likely brass and steel, with a single ocular lens and a rotating nosepiece for multiple objective lenses. Its design reflects the functional aesthetic of laboratory equipment from that era, prioritizing utility and durability. The base is solid, providing a stable platform for observation, and the focusing mechanism appears to be geared for precise adjustments.

Condition and Collector Appeal

The microscope presents with the expected patina of age and use, showing signs of wear consistent with its vintage. While the optical components have not been tested, the mechanical parts appear to move freely. This microscope would be of interest to collectors of scientific instruments, antique tools, or those with an appreciation for the history of science. It could also serve as a unique display piece or a restoration project for a skilled enthusiast.
