Antique Chestnut Roasting Pans

This pair of vintage chestnut roasting pans offer a glimpse into traditional hearth cooking methods. One pan is crafted from brass, exhibiting a warm golden hue, while the other is made of copper, displaying a rich reddish tone. Each pan features a long handle, designed for safe manipulation over an open fire, and a wide, shallow basin ideal for roasting chestnuts or other small items. The handles show signs of age and use, adding to their rustic charm.

Condition and Collectibility

These pans exhibit the expected wear and patina consistent with age and use. The brass pan shows some surface oxidation, while the copper pan displays areas of discoloration. Despite this, both pans remain structurally sound and retain their original character. These pieces would appeal to collectors of antique kitchenalia, those interested in historical cooking methods, or individuals seeking unique decorative items for a fireplace or hearth display.
