Three Vintage Child’s Chairs and a Child’s Stool
This lot comprises three vintage child’s chairs and a child’s stool, offered together as a group. The chairs include two folding examples, one with a slatted seat and back and the other with a shaped, perforated seat and a plain bar-style back. The third chair has a pale-finished, turned spindle back, a shaped top rail and a solid, sculpted seat supported on turned legs. The child’s stool has a kidney-shaped top with a shaped edge, turned legs and a H-stretcher, giving it a simple, practical character typical of traditional country furniture.
Condition and Collectable Appeal
The pieces show visible surface wear, including marks, scuffing and general age-related patina across the chairs and stool. Some of the timber shows darkening and surface discolouration, and the folding mechanisms are shown in their current state. Originality appears intact, with no obvious later alterations apparent, and the group presents well for display or restoration. Its combination of folding, spindle-back and stool forms may appeal to collectors of vintage children’s furniture, nursery décor enthusiasts and those seeking characterful period seating for a traditional interior.
