Introduction

This is a vintage mid-20th-century wooden child’s wheelchair. Constructed with a solid wooden frame and featuring spoked wheels, this chair represents a bygone era of assistive devices. The design suggests a focus on functionality, with a simple seat and backrest, and a robust build intended to provide support and mobility for a young user.

Condition

This wheelchair exhibits signs consistent with age and use. The wood shows wear, including surface scratches and areas where the finish has deteriorated. Despite its age, the chair retains a certain charm and character, and would likely appeal to collectors of medical antiques, or those interested in the history of disability.
