Vintage Dinky Toys and Corgi Toys Diecast Model Cars with Boxes

This lot offers a selection of vintage diecast model cars by two of the best-known British toy makers of the post-war era. The group comprises two Dinky Toys models, the Singer Vogue and the Packard Convertible (Dinky 132), alongside two Corgi Toys models, the Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Coupe (Corgi 230) and the Ford Thunderbird. Several of the models are accompanied by their original card boxes, which bear the Dinky and Corgi branding and the model numbers. The Corgi box for the Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Coupe promotes features including opening boot, spare wheel, spring suspension, seats and steering wheel. The Dinky Packard box is marked as a convertible, and the Singer Vogue box, numbered 145, refers to Prestomatic steering.

Condition and Originality

The boxes show clear signs of age and handling, with edge wear, creasing and areas of tearing, most noticeably on the Dinky 145 box where the flaps are damaged. The loose models also show wear consistent with their age, including surface marks and paint wear. The boxes retain their original printed artwork and labelling, which remains legible on most examples. Vintage Dinky and Corgi models with their original boxes are sought after by collectors of 1950s and 1960s British diecast, and this group offers an interesting opportunity for those building a collection or looking to add pieces with period packaging to their display.
