Two Vintage Die-Cast Racing Models by Dinky Toys and Corgi Toys

This lot comprises two vintage die-cast model racing cars. The first is a Dinky Toys Mercedes-Benz racing car, model 237, finished in white with a red seat and red wheels, carrying the racing number 30 and a seated driver figure. It is offered with its original yellow Dinky Toys box, which is printed with the model number 237 and a illustration of the car. The second is a Corgi Toys Ferrari ‘Berlinetta’ 250 Le Mans, finished in red with a yellow stripe, number 4 roundels and tinted glazing, with grey-finished wheels. Its blue and yellow box is printed with the model name, the words Made in Great Britain and Playcraft Toys Ltd, London.

Age-Related Wear with Original Boxes Intact

The Dinky Toys model shows considerable paint loss, chipping and general wear across its bodywork, consistent with its age and use. The Corgi Toys model presents in noticeably better order, with its red paint and tinted windows appearing largely intact. Both boxes show edge wear, creasing and fading, with the Corgi box also displaying signs of handling. The pairing of two period Dinky and Corgi models, each retaining its own box, offers appeal to collectors of vintage die-cast toys and to those seeking early British racing models from this era.
