Mixed Lot of Fishing Reels Including Rimfly, Shakespeare and Mitchell
This lot comprises a mixed selection of fishing reels, offered as a single collection. The group includes several Rimfly fly reels in silver and coloured perforated finishes, a Leeda DragonFly fly reel with a black perforated drum, and a black Mitchell spinning reel with a folding handle. A reel with a red emblem is housed in a brown leather pouch, and a Shakespeare fly reel is offered with its original green card box, labelled “Traditional British Quality Fly Reel”. The lot will appeal to anglers and collectors of mid-century and later British tackle.
Condition and Collectable Interest
The reels show varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use, and the Shakespeare box is worn, creased and split along its edges. Some Rimfly reels carry labels and tags, one of which is marked WF-8-F. The Mitchell and Leeda reels are sold with no assurances as to their mechanical condition. The original box and the leather pouch add to the presentation of the lot, and the variety of makers makes this a practical group for buyers building a collection or restoring tackle for their own use.
