Vintage Floral Pattern Rug, Approximately 6ft x 4ft
This vintage floral pattern rug, measuring approximately 6ft x 4ft, is offered as a single lot. It has a dark ground with a repeating floral design and a fringed finish to both short ends and the long edges.
Design, Palette and Notable Features
The field is a deep black with rows of small stylised floral sprigs set in offset arrangements. The sprigs are picked out in cream, peach and soft grey-blue. Two narrow cream guard lines frame the central field, and the outer border carries a denser band of floral motifs in the same palette. The cream fringing runs along the edges, giving the rug a traditional, decorative character suited to a range of interiors.
Condition and Points of Interest
The rug shows signs of age and use. The fringing is uneven in places and shows some fraying and loss of length, and there is general wear consistent with a floor covering of this type. Prospective buyers should inspect the rug in person before bidding. Its combination of a black ground, floral motifs and a vintage character may appeal to collectors of decorative rugs and to buyers seeking a statement piece for a period or eclectic interior.
