Geological Survey Maps
This collection comprises three vintage geological survey maps, each detailing a specific region of Great Britain. The maps include “Cheddar”, “Clevedon-Portishead”, and “Sanquhar”, all published by the Geological Survey of Great Britain and Wales. These detailed maps showcase geological formations through colour-coded areas, accompanied by explanatory keys, cross-sections, and topographical details, offering a fascinating glimpse into the earth’s structure and history.
Condition and Collectibility
These maps exhibit signs of age and handling, with creasing, edge wear, and some minor tears consistent with their vintage. The maps have been rolled for storage, and show some wear to the paper. Despite these imperfections, they remain visually striking and historically significant pieces, appealing to collectors of cartography, geology enthusiasts, and those interested in the history of scientific mapping.
