Vintage Inert Artillery Shell
This is an inert artillery shell, likely a practice round, measuring approximately 3 1/4” in diameter and 16” in length. Recovered from a practice area in North Wales, it exhibits the characteristics of a shell used during the Second World War era. The shell casing displays a weathered patina consistent with age and outdoor exposure, offering a glimpse into its history and use.
Condition and Collectability
The shell casing shows signs of wear and corrosion, typical for an item of this age and origin. While inert and safe, it is not in pristine condition, adding to its authentic, relic-like appeal. This piece would be of interest to collectors of military memorabilia, particularly those focused on WW2 history or artillery relics from North Wales practice areas.
