Vintage British Jaeger Car Clock

This is a vintage British Jaeger car clock, offered as a classic automotive accessory for collectors of period motoring items. The clock is mounted on a long metal rod with a knurled knob, and it is presented as a mechanical car clock.

The dial is black with luminous-style Arabic numerals and a fine minute track, and it carries the words “British Jaeger” above a central logo. The lower part of the dial reads “Made in England”. The clock has a polished chrome bezel and a domed glass front, and it is housed in a cylindrical case. The rear plate carries engraved regulation instructions, with a knurled brass-coloured adjuster and a slotted screw. The rod is threaded at its upper end, and the knurled knob at its lower end is a practical feature for handling and fitting.

Condition and Collector Interest

The clock shows clear signs of age and use. The chrome bezel has visible wear, pitting and tarnishing, and the case has areas of surface loss and patina. The rod shows rust and wear along its length, and the knurled brass-coloured knob has tarnished. The dial is dark with some marks and general ageing, and the glass front is intact. The rear plate retains its original engraved text, which adds to its originality. The clock is sold as seen, and its working order has not been confirmed. Its authentic character, original dial and maker’s marks may appeal to collectors of vintage British motoring accessories, classic car restorers and those seeking a period dashboard piece for display or restoration.
