Vintage Leather Cartridge Belt & Game Bag
This is a vintage leather cartridge belt, designed to hold shotgun shells and featuring an integrated game bag. The belt is constructed from thick, tanned leather, showing signs of age and wear consistent with its history. The game bag portion is spacious, intended for carrying harvested game, and is attached securely to the belt. This piece likely dates from the late 19th or early 20th century, reflecting a time when hunting was a common pastime and practical accessories like this were essential.
Condition & Collectibility
The cartridge belt shows considerable wear, with surface cracking and discoloration to the leather, indicative of age and use. While not pristine, this wear adds to its character and authenticity. This piece would appeal to collectors of antique hunting accessories, shooting enthusiasts, or those interested in Victorian-era sporting goods. It represents a tangible piece of history, offering a glimpse into the tools and traditions of a bygone era.
