Vintage Leather Writing Case
This vintage leather writing case is offered as a tan leather desk accessory with a fitted interior for stationery. It is presented as an unbranded piece with no maker’s marks evident in the lot description.
When open, the case reveals a writing surface with several leather pockets and sleeves for holding paper and small items. A central pocket with a brass-coloured press stud fastening sits between two larger pockets, and a smaller stud-fastened pouch is positioned lower down. A pencil is held in an elastic loop at the base of the inner panel. The exterior is fitted with a metal clasp, leather straps and buckles, and a lockable hasp, which give it a practical, travelling style.
Condition and Collectability
The leather shows general wear consistent with age, including scuffing, surface marks and some discolouration, most noticeably on the writing panel and along the edges. The stitching and fastenings are visible, and the pockets and straps appear to be original to the piece. A sheet of pink paper is tucked into the case, and the pencil is included. Its combination of traditional leather construction, compartmentalised interior and original fittings may appeal to collectors of vintage desk accessories and to buyers looking for an authentic period piece.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
