Nine Vintage Lighters Including Marlboro
This lot comprises nine vintage lighters offered together, with a Marlboro cigarette-pack lighter forming a notable centrepiece. The group brings together a varied mix of styles, including a blue plastic case bearing Gauloises Blondes branding, a green lighter advertising Fuller’s, and a white-panelled gold-tone lighter marked Takasago with Tokyo, New York and Paris printed on its face. Among the metal examples is a wrench-form lighter, a plain cylindrical chrome lighter with lettering to the front, and two slim chrome lighters, one decorated with a golfer in relief and the other with a raised cannabis leaf motif. Together the lot offers a diverse snapshot of tobacco-related and advertising lighter design across several decades.
Condition and Collector Appeal
Each piece shows the signs of age and use that might be expected from vintage smoking accessories, including scratches, surface wear and areas of tarnish or marking to the metal bodies, while the Marlboro pack-form lighter shows edge wear and light soiling. Original decoration, branding and engraved detailing remain visible on most items. The mix of advertising, novelty and brand-name pieces makes this lot of interest to collectors of vintage lighters and tobacco ephemera, and it would also suit those building a themed display or studying the evolution of lighter design.
