Vintage Matchbox SuperKings Diecast Model Lot
This lot comprises five vintage Matchbox SuperKings diecast models, each presented in its original blue and white window box. The group includes the K-104 Rancho Rescue Set, K-96 Volvo Ambulance, K-99 Dodge Polizei Van, K-84 Peugeot 305 and K-90 Matra-Rancho. The SuperKings range was Matchbox’s larger-scale line, and this selection offers a varied mix of rescue, emergency service and utility vehicles. The K-104 set pairs a white Coastguard-marked off-road vehicle with a blue tanker trailer bearing the number 370, while the K-99 van carries green and orange striping and POLIZEI lettering. Figures accompany some of the models, adding to the period character of the set.
Packaging Condition and Collector Appeal
Each model is shown in its own SuperKings window box, with the boxes displaying the Matchbox branding and model numbers. The boxes show signs of age, including wear, creasing and marks to the card, and some of the clear window film appears worn. The original packaging is an important part of the appeal for collectors of this era, as boxed examples of Matchbox SuperKings models are sought after by enthusiasts of vintage diecast toys. This lot would suit a collector building a SuperKings display, or a buyer looking to acquire several emergency and rescue themed models together.
