Pair of Vintage Middlemore and Dunlop Bicycle Saddles
This lot comprises two vintage bicycle saddles, one by Middlemore and one by Dunlop. Both are finished in black and offered together as a pair.
The Middlemore saddle has a broad, triangular top with a rear coil spring assembly and a brass maker’s plate bearing the Middlemore name. Its edges are secured with rivets. The Dunlop saddle has a rounded, tapering form with a similar oval maker’s plate reading DUNLOP and a rear mounting section. Both saddles display the traditional construction associated with early and mid-twentieth century English cycle components.
Condition and Collectable Appeal
Both saddles show general age-related wear, including scuffing, marks and surface discolouration to the black covering. There is visible wear to the edges and rivets, with some corrosion evident on the metal fittings. Neither saddle has been represented as complete or in working order, and prospective buyers should inspect them carefully. Their period maker’s badges and original form make them of interest to vintage cycle enthusiasts, restorers and collectors of Middlemore and Dunlop cycle parts.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
