Vintage Midwinter Staffordshire Pottery Tableware Trio
This lot comprises three pieces of vintage Midwinter Staffordshire pottery: a sugar shaker, a jam dish and a sugar bowl. The sugar shaker has a square-section body, a pierced chrome-finished top and four small feet. The jam dish is a two-compartment dish with a raised chrome-finished spoon stand, and the sugar bowl is square with a chrome-finished lid and a looped handle. All three pieces share a cream ground decorated with gilt-toned trailing foliage and floral sprays in pink and purple. The underside of the sugar bowl carries a printed backstamp reading “Midwinter England Staffordshire Semi-Porcelain” beneath a crown, together with the letter B.
Condition and Originality
Light wear is visible to the foot rims of the sugar bowl and the sugar shaker, with some marking to the underside of the sugar bowl. The decoration remains clear across all three pieces, and the printed Midwinter backstamp is present. The combination of matching decoration, chrome fittings and a complete set of three vintage pieces may appeal to collectors of Midwinter ceramics and to buyers seeking vintage Staffordshire tableware for a traditional or retro setting.
