Vintage Military Ammunition Box
This lot is a vintage metal ammunition box finished in brown, with a hinged lid and two metal latches on the front. The lid’s underside carries a raised, embossed panel pattern. The box is currently holding a quantity of car oil, together with an orange strap, red cable leads and several items in plastic bags. Its rugged, utilitarian construction makes it a practical example of military-style metal storage.
Condition and Collectability
The box shows signs of age and handling, including scuffing and areas of worn paint, particularly on the interior of the lid. The metal latches appear to be in place, and the body of the box remains intact. Military surplus storage of this type is sought after by collectors of vintage military equipment and by those who appreciate robust, period-style metalwork. The original utilitarian character of the box, along with its mixed contents, may also appeal to buyers looking for workshop or garage storage.
