Description & History
This is a vintage military voltmeter, reference number 5u/1636, likely dating from the Second World War period. Manufactured for the Air Ministry, this instrument would have been used for testing and maintaining electrical systems in aircraft or ground support equipment. The voltmeter features a circular dial with voltage readings, a black bakelite case, and a fabric-covered cable. Its robust construction and simple design reflect the functional requirements of military applications during the war.
Condition & Collectibility
This voltmeter is presented in a used, vintage condition, showing signs of age and previous use. The case exhibits wear consistent with its age, and the cable shows some fraying. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
