Vintage Moore & Wright and Ambrose Harlow Micrometers with Osborn Inside Micrometer
This lot comprises three measuring instruments: two outside micrometers, one bearing the Moore & Wright name and the other the Ambrose Harlow name, together with an inside micrometer by Osborn. The Osborn set is housed in its original card box, which carries the maker’s label reading “A Quality Product” and “Made in England”. The two outside micrometers each sit in a separate protective case, one in black and one in brown. Each micrometer has a knurled thimble and a frame suited to external measurement, with graduated scales engraved along the barrel.
Condition, Originality and Collector Interest
The micrometers show general signs of age and use, including wear to the cases and some marks to the metalwork. The Osborn box has visible wear, staining and handwritten marks on the lid, which are consistent with its history. The original boxes and cases contribute to the originality of the lot and add to its appeal. Collectors of vintage engineering tools and British-made measuring instruments may find this group of makers of interest, particularly as the Osborn set and the cased outside micrometers are presented together.

Items are sold on a “sold as seen” basis, electrical items etc are untested unless stated otherwise in the title of the items in question. We have a viewing day on Saturday 10am-3pm if you are unsure about an item from photos. Please be aware that as we are now VAT registered the buyers commission is now 17.5% plus VAT.
#### As of 1/10/2021 we will be implementing a 7 day collection rule – items must be collected within 7 days unless an agreement is arranged in the event of instances such as being away on holiday, medical reasons etc. Any lots that are not collected within 7 days will be liable to a storage charge of £1.20 per day.
