Two Vintage Glass Vases: Murano-Style Green and Ruby Cut Glass
This lot comprises two vintage glass vases offering contrasting styles. The larger piece is a hand blown green vase described as Murano, with a slender, flared neck and a white opaque ruffled rim. Its body is decorated with applied clear glass blossoms, a looped handle-like trail and a cluster of multicoloured glass inclusions, all set on a clear glass foot. The smaller piece is a ruby flashed cut glass vase with a faceted, star-cut clear bowl above a band of ruby glass, a knopped stem and a cut foot. Together they make an attractive pairing for display on a shelf or sideboard.
Condition, Originality and Collector Appeal
From the photograph, both vases appear to be in good visible order, with no obvious chips or cracks showing, although bidders should inspect the lot closely as the images cannot show every detail. The green vase retains its applied decoration and rim, and the ruby vase keeps its cut pattern and colour flash, which suggests they are largely original. Pieces of this kind appeal to collectors of vintage art glass, Murano-style decorative glassware and English or European cut glass, and the contrasting colours and techniques make this a useful grouping for a display or a small collection.
