Collection Overview
This collection comprises a selection of vintage Ordnance Survey maps, carefully rolled and secured with aged ribbon. These maps represent a fascinating glimpse into the historical cartography of Britain, detailing topographical features, settlements, and transport networks as they existed during the period of publication. The maps exhibit the characteristic style of Ordnance Survey mapping, with detailed contour lines, precise land markings, and a focus on accurate geographical representation.
Condition and Collectibility
The maps show signs consistent with age and handling, including some creasing, minor foxing, and edge wear. Despite these imperfections, the maps remain largely legible and retain their historical integrity. This collection would be of particular interest to map collectors, historians, local history enthusiasts, or those seeking unique decorative items with a strong sense of place and time.
