Vintage Oval Framed Mirror
This vintage oval framed mirror features a deep, ornately moulded frame with a gold-toned finish. The raised decoration includes scrolling foliage and rose-type motifs running around the full circumference of the frame. The oval mirror plate sits within the frame, with a reflective surface that shows the room behind the viewer. No maker’s name or marks are evident in the lot description.
Condition and Collector Appeal
The frame shows the expected signs of age, with darker tones settling into the recesses of the carved decoration and some wear to the gold-toned surface. The mirror plate appears to be original to the frame, and the decorative detail remains crisp across the moulding. Its traditional oval form and detailed relief work may appeal to collectors of vintage décor and to buyers looking for a characterful statement piece for a hallway, bedroom or dressing area.
