Vintage Pelham Puppet Girl in Original Box
This lot is a vintage Pelham Puppet girl marionette, offered together with its original box. The puppet has a moulded head with painted features, orange plaited hair and a green cap, and is dressed in a cream blouse and a full skirt printed with orange and green flowers. It is fitted with a wooden control bar and wooden feet, and the box lid carries the Pelham Puppets name and the wording “Infant Control Method”.
Condition and Collectability
The puppet shows the expected signs of age and handling, including some wear to the costume and fittings. The box is also aged, with visible wear to its edges and damage to the printed label. Its original packaging, printed graphics and blue and cream lettering are part of its appeal, as complete boxed examples of mid-twentieth-century British puppets are sought after by collectors of vintage toys and Pelham Puppets memorabilia.
